Abstract:Biopower is a type of power that does not explicitly suppress life, but controls and regulates it. Biopower has a regulatory role on the female body, as in many areas of life. Biopower shapes women's perceptions of beauty and aesthetics and directs them in accordance with the capitalist consumer culture. In this study, environmental factors that affect women's perceptions about beauty and aesthetics have been examined. In this context, data were collected from 50 participants to determine the impact biopower on the aesthetics of the female in Turkey. Interview forms have been used as data collection tools. According to the findings, women care about beauty and aesthetics, and consider the thoughts of the environment. Women also attach importance to the external appearance of others.
