Abstract:

Throughout the Roman Imperial Period, Anatolian Libraries are important for the history of culture. The remains which are defined as libraries and survived until today are becoming subject to archeological studies. However, there are problems with detection and defination of Roman Imperial Periods Libraries built in Anatolia. The primary purpose of this thesis is to determine typological-structural properties as well as researching detailed reviews in the sense of contextual-functional ancient libraries. In addition, revealing publical presentation of those mentioned libraries. In conclusion, examined libraries in this thesis are summed up in three groups and some potential proposals are suggested to solve typological classification problems.
