Abstract:Recently, flexible yarns have gained an increasing importance for textiles industry. For this purpose, blends of several textile fibres and spandex fibres are widely used. At this contex, PBT (Polybuthylene teraphthaiate), a kind of high elasticity polyester fibre is also used occasionally for garment fabrics. In this study, some parameters which affect to dyeing features of PBT fibres were investigated. With this aim, the dyeing results earned out at different temperature, time and pH values by using different moleculer weight disperse dyes were compared. Furthermore, the effect of dye con centration on dyeing time and effect of washing temperature on washing- off process were also investigated. Optimum process conditions for disperse dyeing of PBT fibres were determined with the results obtained.
