The product variations bring enourmous design difficulties of different product for designers. Design for assembly and design for manufacturing provide benefits for the development of quality, for the decrease of assembly and manufacturing cost, for the reduction of marketing time and the simplification of a product. The goals of this thesis are to present the opinions and applications on the subject of DFA, to provide the quidelines and references for the future applications and searchs. In this frame, the studies implemented on DFA, which is a new application, were investigated. Industrial applications were reviewed. As an application headlamp was redesigned by taking DFA rules into considerations. Criterions such as time, cost and the reduction in the number of parts, that are very important for the companies, were evaluated for the previous and the new design. The new design was proved to be much better.
