Abstract:

In this research we evaluated I. Y. Krachkovskys biography, his works, the religion he was influenced by, as well as political, social and other factors which influenced his thoughts. Along with this we analyzed his opinions about Islam and Islamic history. We also attached a big importance to researches about Russian Orientalism, Krachkovskys place in Russian orientalism, and his works and researches made during The Soviet Period. Also, in this research we gave some information about Krachkovsky?s kin and events he has been through during both World Wars. We also tried to give some information about his students and his works made not only as a scientist who study Islam, but as a translator as well. Along with all the information which was given in this research we highlighted aspects related with Krachkovskys studies in Islam and Islamic History and, by analyzing them, we tried to reveal his views and opinions about this field of study. This way, along with the role of Krachkovsky in Russian orientalism we evaluated his thoughts on events in Islamic History. As a result, we analyzed objective views of Islamic History of I. Y. Krachkovsky, the views of Soviet Russias orientalist which lived between 1883-1951. The main difference of Krachkovsky from other Russian orientalists was the fact that he has never included his subjective views into his works. Even though some of his views were not the same as in Islamic religion, he never tried to impose them on others. In the concluding part of our research we made a total analysis of the topic.
