This thesis aims to research, changes of religion or religious life in the context of nation-mentality. The term of “nation mentality”, because of its first using like a this coherence, is the most important problems of this thesis. Another problem is using terms of core – periphery. We can say that; thesis accomplished a model for explaining the Islamization in two dimensions. The first dimension is horizontal and the second is perpendicular. In the first dimension, Islamization can be explained with theory of aculturation in Anatolian area. In the second dimension, it is called as a perpendicular dimension, religious differentiation can be explained with the terms of core – periphery. As a fact that the term of core defines the groups in society like heterodoxy or orthodoxy. Orthodoxy has a legitimation according to the core on the another hand heterodoxy has not it yet. Hence, this thesis elaborates on the transformations that took place in 11th century Turkish society’s thought and structure.
