Abstract:There has been increase in building needs such as housing, religious facilities and public buildings in urban areas with the industrial revolution leading to rising in migration to city centres, Due to these needs, by aimming acceleration in process of building construction some concepts showed up as fast design, fast material production and rapid implementation.Our country also has been affected directly as well as all over the world by rapid production process and exposed to loss of identity in architectural works. The most affected from these losses had been roofs and facades provides relations between inner and outer spaces which are appearing face of buildings. While roofs and facades lose their identity, it also touched life comfort of humanity. The most significant factor that affects the life quality in urban areas is definitely whether the buildings are good-quality, inhabitable, healthy and esthetical or not. In accordance with the progress of mankind, the materials used in roofs and facades and the production system also improved of these materials developed.In these developments, rapid production got ahead of architectural identity.As well as the design process, the materials used in roofs and facades have affected the architectural identity that the buildings contributed the cities. Rapid changes in the structural materials which create roofs and facades had an influence on the quality and identity loss of the buildings. Considering that buildings are directly related to humans, no matter how production process is fast, It requires to design and produce architectural works which enrich to urban. This thesis study; reveal that effects to urban and architectural indentity of productions of roofs and facades in building process and materials which are used in this production process. Concepts of roofs and facades and materials used in this production were examined, some evaluations were made by analizing roofs and facades over some buildings produced in various periods.
