In this thesis, buckling behaviour of the steel rack system which is used for transporting and storing, are investigated. In this study, how holes and stiffeners effect on buckling behaviour of plates and uprights which are used in rack system are focused on. For this purpose linear and non-linear buckling analyses have been performed using ANSYS finite element program and results are examined. The effects of hole shapes, space between holes and distance from holes to lateral and top faces on the buckling behaviour are studied. Furthermore, the effects of shape and location of flange and web stiffeners effects are also explained.
