In this study, airborne pollen grains and allergenic plants taxa of Edirne province were investigated using a hirst volumetric trap VPSS 2000 (Lanzoni) from 01th January 2005 to 31th December 2006.During two years period, a total of 39390 pollen grains / m³ which belonged to 58 taxa were recorded. From identified taxa, 29 belong to arboreal (54.10%) and 29 taxa to non-arboreal (33.95%) plants and Poaceaee (11.96%) pollen grains. In the investigated region, from arboreal plant taxa Platanus sp. (8.89%), Cupressaceae/Taxaceae (%6.69), Morus sp. (%5,74), Quercus sp. (%5.65), Pinus sp. (%5.47), Oleaceae (%2.74), Fraxinus sp. (%2.51), Populus sp. (%2.34), Cerdus sp. (%1.91), Salix sp. (%1.75), Carpinus sp. (%1.36) ve Maclura sp. (%1.10) and from non-arboreal plant taxa Gramineae (11.96%), Chenopodiaceae/ Amaranthaceae (%5.77), Urticaceae (%5.51), Rumex sp. (%5.24), Ambrosia sp. (%4.38), Artemisia sp. (%3.49), Plantago sp. (%1.89), Xanthium sp. (%1.39) ve Humulus sp. (%1.23) were responsible for the greatest amounts of pollen grains in two years. Maximun pollen concentration of investigated region is recorded in April and in May.
