Abstract:

In this study temperature distribution and thermal stresses by a stationary or moving heat source on a two dimensional thin plate have been investigated with the aid of Fourier analysis. By using double Fourier series a new method to solve this problem has been presented. An algorithm for the calculations that presented new method requires has been developed. Besides making the calculations easier, the algorithm makes it possible to obtain the temperature distribution for a sequential moving heat source. A user interface for that algorithm has also been developed to enable the use of this method in industrial applications.
