Abstract:

In this thesis, usability of cellulose powders in textile coating as filling materials was researched. 100% polyester woven fabrics which were applied pre-treatment, were appliqued cellulose powders by knife coating technique. Primarily the effect of fixing temperature and fixing time on yellowing behaviour of cellulose powders was researched and optimal conditions that induced minimum yellowing were determined. To determine effect of concentration and particle size of cellulose powder used in coating on coated fabric properties, various physical properties and sound and thermal insulation properties of fabrics which were coated with cellulose powders having different concentration and different particle sizes were evaluated. As a result of coatings involved cellulose powders, sound absorption behaviour of polyester fabrics improved especially in middle and high frequencies and generally coatings having low thermal conductivity coefficient were obtained.
