Abstract:

In this study, the possible integration of the theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ) methodology to the area of Design for Assembly was investigated. By the help of contradiction matrix used by TRIZ techniques, it would be possible to solve the design for assembly problems using the contradictions between assembly variables. After the investigations and surveys 27 different assembly variables were determined and the contradiction matrix was formed. This matrix would be a very useful tool to solve the contradictions between the variables and to find out the solutions for DFA problems.
