Abstract:This study conveyed the point of view of the Russian Orientalists being between East and West, about the Ottoman Empire. In conveying this view was examined the period from the first relations of the Russian Orientalists, especially the ancestors Slavs, with the Turkic peoples to the collapse of the Ottomans. Our work were examined the sources about the wars, revolts and trade activities that took place in this period, also it included the historical and others events about Ottoman perception. Together with that, we tried to identify the reasons for these views using various sources about Ottomans. In addition, in our thesis were also included the informations such as the reports of the ambassadors and the works of the writers, who had relations with the Ottomans themselves.
