Abstract:Housing is one of the most basic needs of human beings. People carried out housing production activities to meet this requirement. Nowadays, housing production is a phenomenon of urban area with its social and economic dimensions.Bursa is the 4. largest city of Turkey according to its population. In this thesis, Bursa's urban development established through the residential areas in the past. Bursa was initially established as a castle town during the Byzantine period, then served as the capital to Ottoman Empire and today it is one of the world's leading metropolises.Bursa has received significant migration in the past and it's population has a ethnic complex structure. Today immigration continues to Bursa because of its working opportunities. The housing presentation in the Bursa's different areas with different forms of production towards the demand of housing handled in the thesis since Bursa was a castle town till todays residential texture.
