Abstract:Verbascum bombyciferum Boiss. is a plant species endemic to Turkey, spreading in the Marmara Region. In this study, 16 populations from 82 individuals Verbascum bombiciferum Boiss. were collected from Bursa and its province. Plants were analyzed by a molecular marker technique, ISSR. Up to date, except morphology studies no other study was performed related to genetic variation of this species. 86 polymorphic bands were obtained as a result of polymerase chain reactions using 13 ISSR primers. Polymorphic bands were analyzed using Popgen32 program and genetic distances, genetic diversity and genetic differentiation parameters were calculated by this program. The total polymorphism of 82 individuals was determined as 100%. Within the populations, average values of percentage of polymorphic bands (PPB), Nei's genetic diversity (H) and Shanon's diversity index (I) was calculated as 58,21%, 0,2025 and 0,3046, respectively. Total genetic variation (Ht), genetic diversity (Hs) and genetic differentiation among the populations were found to be 0,2880, 0,2025 and 0,2970 respectively. As a result of this study genetic relationships of individuals and populations were shown as dendograms. The results were also supported by the PCA (Principal Component Analysis) using the NTSYSpc program.
