Abstract:At the present time, human factor comes into prominence in the automotive assembly line. The assembly parts which are assemblied to the car are changed according to the car option which is produced. More than one model and option car can be produced on a production line. Mostly, assembly process are done by operator. Industry 4.0 studies are performed in industry. Day by day the use of augmented reality glasses, which is related to industry 4.0 is became widespread. In addition, on the neuro ergonomics area, the effect of augmented reality glasses on a human about are being investigated. In this study, It is aimed to determine the effect of augmented reality glasses on cognitive load. The augmented reality glasses are one of the important topics at the present time. Augmented reality is reflection real display to users by converting displayed shapes or objects to some visuals. In this study, we searched the effect of cognitive load on the employees when using the augmented reality glasses Using augmented reality technology helps improve productivity, reduce cognitive load and eliminate wrong sorting problem while assembling a vehicle. The experimental studies were performed with women and men who used augmented reality glasses. The participants were asked to receive 10 pieces of workpieces from 56 material box that is predetermined, according to the specified work order and then place them in the specific place The NASA-TLX valuation method was used to interpret the resulting test results. After the normality test, the Mann Whitney U Test was performed. The results showed the cycle time decreased 16% by using augmented reality glasses. With regard to cognitive load, the difference between genders was examined. When compared to gender, there was no significant difference between men and women participants in terms of cycle time. Within the scope of industry 4.0, the contribution of augmented reality glasses to the automotive sector was presented.
