Abstract:

CAD/CAM systems play an important role in manufacturing of forming dies. By the help of this systems the appropriate machining method which is dependent on the model produced by the CAD/CAM System and the workpiece material; appropriate tool needed for the production and the shortest machining time to produce the die can be determined. In this study application of a CAD/CAM System to the manufacturing process of dies, the machining methods that can be selected according to the workpiece and to material and the solution of problems that occur during the machining are investigated.
