Abstract:

In this study, which aimed to investigate the performance of the mattress ticking fabrics, three experimental sections are given. In experiments circular knitted laid-in and warp knitted spacer fabrics are used which are used widely in mattress ticking fabrics production. In first section, some of the yarn properties effect on dimensional and physical properties of laid-in fabrics is researched. In second section the effect of mattress ticking fabric, sleeping position and bed types on fabric-body interface pressure is investigated by using a body-mapping system. In third section the effect of mattress ticking fabric, weight and bed types on fabric-body interface pressure is investigated by using Kikuhime pressure sensor. In the first chapter, the purpose and aims of the study are presented. In the second chapter, a summary of the literature survey is given. In the third chapter, properties of fabrics used throughout the experimental works, testing procedures and measurements of the performance properties of mattress ticking fabrics are explained. In the fourth chapter, experimental results are presented. In the fifth chapter, performance properties of mattress ticking fabrics are discussed.
