Abstract:

Religious and Theological Ideas of Zamanists in Kyrgyzstan Zamanist poets tried to raise religious and national awareness through poems among Kyrgyz people who were the victims of assimilation and degeneration policy of Russian occupants since 19th century. Some of the poets who were the representatives of this movement were Kalygul Bay uulu, Arstanbek Buylash uulu, Moldo Niyaz, Moldo Kylych, Nurmoldo, Aldash Moldo. General themes of these poems were the problems that the time brought and the bad effect of the time on Kyrgyz People's religious and national identity. It is also understood that poems of Zamanists include theological subjects; they were strict believers of Islamic creed and reminded people the importance of belief (especially belief in the Creator) and the testimony of tawheed. This study is composed of two parts anda conclusion. The subject, aim, method and sources of the study are explained in the introduction. Zamanist movement is explained generally and biographies and books of Zamanists are introduced in the first part. Subjects of al-usul al-thalatha (three pillar), practical parts of Islam that results from the five pillars of Islam and Zamanists perspectives on them are explained in the second part. This study finishes with the summary in the conclusion and the appendix
