The airborne pollen amounts and variations in the atmosphere of Akçay (Balıkesir) atmosphere was determined by gravimetry with a Durham sampler between 1 January - 31 October 2012. The slides were changed weekly in the study period, pollen grains of 40 taxa were identified and from these, 25 of them originating from arboreal plants and 15 from non- arboreal plants. A total of 8118 pollen grains per cm2 counted; 84.02 % of these pertain to arboreal and 15.17 % to non-arboreal plants and 0.82 % to identified ones. Pinus sp., Cupressaceae/Taxaceae, Alnus sp., Platanus sp., Quercus sp., Salix sp., Olea sp., Morus sp. and Fraxinus sp were found to be the dominating arboreal types and Gramineae, Plantago sp. and Urticaceae were non arboreal ones.
