Abstract:In this study, after describing firstly the historic area, historic environment, historic settlements, historic urban texture, conservation and revitalization concepts, then by examining the revalorization of historic settlements and the importance, grounds and principles of re-converted them into living spaces and within the scope of process management, revitalization works, financial resources, actors, organizational forms of transformation processes and design and application principles will be discussed through case studies.Recently, by analyzing the problems in applications made under the urban regeneration efforts, to make assessments about particularly renewal of historic settlements, and management of revitalization processes, actors of the process and how to organize the relationships between the actors, process management strategies, the legal framework issues, how to structure the projects and practices and what is affected them, how to provide financial resources are the most important objectives of this study..Also beyond the protection of cultural heritage in the applications which are in the scale of settlement, the problem can not be solved improving only the physical aspects, at the same time successful results can be obtained as a result of multi-factor, comprehensive and very disciplinary studies in which socio-cultural, economic, social and environmental factors are very effective and the balance between conservation of these private sites with their eigenvalues and the transformation to living places can be provided by management of change are explained.
