Abstract:

In this thesis, the structural, electrical and magnetic properties of three different type polymer films doped with barium ferrite nano particles have been investigated. XRD and AFM techniques were used for structural investigations. I-V and C-V measurements were used for electrical investigations and VSM and MFM were used for investigation of magnetic properties. In structural investigations, polymer films doped with barium ferrite have a very small crystalline size. The AFM results showed that the range of the polymer films surface roughness value is between 16 nm and 240 nm. The lowest surface roughness value was obtained in P(VA)-BF. Electrical measurements were carried out at room temperature. The average barriers heights of 0,68±0,02 eV and 0,75±0,02 eV was obtained from current-voltage and capacitance-voltage measurements, respectively. The hysteresis curves of the polymer films were obtained by VSM measurement. As can be seen from hysteresis curves, polymer films show ferromagnetic behavior. The highest saturation magnetization value was measured in P(VA)-BF. The bright and dark areas in MFM image is represented magnetization direction.
