Özet:

In this study, two textbooks were analyzed according to their foreign language didactics and literature didactics. For the analysis, the textbooks "Jo-Jo Lesebuch 4" by Cornelsen Publishing and "Niko 4 – Differenziertes Lesebuch" by Ernst Klett Publishing which include literary text and reading comprehension activities in foreign languages were selected. The selected textbooks are suitable for the 4th grade of Primary School in Germany and after the analysis, these textbooks have been determined that they can be also used in foreign language education. The conducted research is a result of the literature review and analysis. The following researches were answered for the research: 1. What are the roles of literary texts in foreign education? 2. What are the effects of literary texts on foreign language students? 3. What kinds of skills are improved with literary texts? 4. Are textbooks with literary texts content used in foreign language classes? The purpose of this study is to improve the skills of foreign language students with literary texts, to help them learn German language inductively, to enrich their vocabulary and knowledge related to country.
